What can you track?
- Birth records
- Mother and offspring links
- Calf tracking
- Animal pedigree
Record the actual birth
Select the mother and enter the actual date, total offspring and live offspring. Add available complication and veterinary check details. An estimated date does not replace this event.
Link mother and offspring
The birth belongs to the mother’s reproduction history. The calf’s ear tag, sex, breed and birth date belong to a separate animal card. An offspring count alone is not an individual calf record.
Review previous births and lifecycle
Review previous births alongside checks and inseminations. Continue the calf’s health and lifecycle history on its own card. Record only known parent relationships.
How to get started
- Open a birth record for the mother.
- Enter the date and offspring counts.
- Create an individual calf record.
- Link the known mother and add later health records.
Frequently asked questions
Is a birth record the same as a calf card?
No. One records an event for the mother; the other records the calf’s identity and history.
What if parentage is unknown?
Do not guess. A bull code alone is not a link to a registered father animal.
