Tarliva livestock record guide

Record heat and insemination dates, methods, bull codes and check reminders for each animal.

Heat, insemination and follow-up checks form a useful history when kept together. Insemination alone is not a pregnancy result.

What can you record in Tarliva?

  • Ear tag or animal name
  • Heat observation date and notes
  • Insemination date, method and bull code
  • Check reminders, planned dry-off and estimated calving

How do you track this in Tarliva?

  • Open the animal card from Herd Management and check the ear tag.
  • Record heat observation dates and notes in Reproduction.
  • Add the insemination date, method and bull details. Review planned dates on the animal card.
  • Add a separate Pregnancy Check when the result is available. Do not assume insemination succeeded.

How are repeat inseminations tracked?

Create a new record for a new procedure rather than overwriting an earlier date. Compare heat, insemination and check history chronologically. Distinguish corrections from newly performed procedures.

Keep related records connected

Link heat, insemination, pregnancy checks, dry-off, births and calves to the correct animal. Review health and vaccination history on the same card. Keep planned dates separate from completed procedures and check the saved animal and dates.
