Record the animal, insemination date, method, bull code and notes. Heat observation and insemination are separate events that can be reviewed chronologically.
Adjust the 210 and 275 day defaults
The initial software defaults suggest dry-off 210 days and calving 275 days after insemination. Change business defaults or individual dates. These are planning defaults, not veterinary recommendations.
Separate plans from completed procedures
Add a check reminder. Record the actual dry-off date only when completed, and create a separate birth record when calving occurs.
