Tarliva livestock record guide

Keep calf identity, birth date, mother relationship and health history on an individual animal card.

The calf’s own record follows it beyond the birth event. A reliable identity makes later health, weight and lifecycle records easier to connect.

What can you record in Tarliva?

  • Ear tag, name, species, breed and sex
  • Date of birth
  • Known mother relationship
  • Health, vaccinations and weight records

How do you track this in Tarliva?

  • Record the birth event against the mother.
  • Create an individual calf record and enter its identity and birth date.
  • Link the known mother and check the animal card.
  • Add subsequent health, vaccination and weight records to the calf’s own history.

What should I do if parentage is unknown?

Leave unverified relationships unset until confirmed. Do not infer a registered parent from a note or bull code alone.

Keep related records connected

Link heat, insemination, pregnancy checks, dry-off, births and calves to the correct animal. Review health and vaccination history on the same card. Keep planned dates separate from completed procedures and check the saved animal and dates.
